Worst Blogger...Ever.

Awful, awful, awful at keeping up with this blog, but here's my attempt at catch up.

This is us playing "tourist" downtown at the bean.  Such a great time!

Happy Birthday GIrls!

My baby girl are a whole year old!  Hard to believe this picture was taken a year ago!  This has to have been the fastest year of my life and, aside maybe from the first year of college, the blurriest!  Just kidding, but seriously it has been such a whirlwind. Thankfully, after 2 months of waking up every 1 1/2-2 hours, followed by 8 months of waking up every 3 hours, we are FINALLY starting get some solid sleep these nights and we are welcoming it with open arms!

Here comes the bride flower girl!  Emma was lucky enough to be the flower girl in not one but TWO weddings this summer!  It took a little convincing to make sure Emma new she wasn't the one actually getting married, but Em was stoked.  She had the time of her life.  She practiced her walk and holding her flowers, she practiced her dancing and showed me exactly how she would smile for the camera.  She did a great job at both weddings and is still talking about how much she enjoyed walking down the aisle!

Here she is at our good friends Chris and Kristen's wedding at Lake Belaire, ready to get the show on the road!

August

Don't you just love digital cameras? You take loads and loads of pictures because you aren't paying for film, and therefore doesn't matter how the pictures turn out, and then the pictures just sit on your camera for months. I FINALLY just uploaded 200+ pictures from summer. I need to get my act together or I will never be able to catch up!

Yummy! Nothing beats fresh Michigan corn and peaches!

 Such a big girl!
Think this was officially the last time we could squeeze the girls into one swing together.

Not to worry, Emma still dresses up in tutus and ballet outfits Every. Single. Day.

Ahh. Loving life right now. Summer has been so much fun. The little girls are at such a fun age and Emma is really starting to have fun with them...for the most part anyways ;)

Happy Birthday Daddy!

The past month has been so much fun. We've started solids with the little girls and they have taken to eating like champs! I can't get it in their mouths fast enough!

I was really hoping the additional feedings were going to help me get some extra hours of sleep at night, but no such luck. Thankfully, they are about as cute as they come in the morning, and I somehow manage to forget about getting out of bed 4 times the night before to feed their chubby little selves!

They've always noticed and loved watching Emma, but they are really becoming more aware of each other now. They stare at each other constantly, hold hands, and even steal toys from each other. Here they are having what appears to be a very important conversation.
This is the perfect floor mopping stage! They are scooting all over the place, but haven't yet figured out how to get up on their knees so their lil' bellies are collecting all the dust bunnies for me!

In other news, Emma participated in her very first show and tell at her preschool class. I tried to convince her otherwise, but she insisted on bringing......a pillow. (Yes, Emma is sporting a full length gown in this picture)

All That Glitters

Emma is turning into a living, breathing, pint-sized version of Fancy Nancy. She says things like "these eggs are delectable" and "I'm going to wake up glorious". Oh, and my personal favorite, "I adore you, really I do". She gives her dolls facials and manicures and tells me that I need new polish on my toes. She wears at least 4 different outfits a day and if you see her between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm, you are certain to see her putting on a show in one of her many tutus.

This was at night but you can' tell b/c I can't work our camera! Emma is sound asleep with Splendiferous Christmas open to her favorite page and if you look closely, you'll see a bight pink boa peeking out from underneath the book :)
